Week 7 Day 2!

Dave gave up his strike-beard last night - a mere 4 days into strike-return - and we here at LNT shed a tear or three over it too, believe you me. Not only was Dave’s face the most interesting thing on TV with that beard, but it added an air of danger heretofore UNSEEN to the kid from Indiana. RIP Dave strike-beard.

Meanwhile, over on The Zone, Conan still sports his strike-beard, BUT FOR HOW LONG?! Dave at least has an excuse to get out of his facial support (not to be confused with Jenna Jameson’s short-lived CW sitcom of the same name), since he struck a deal with the WGA. Conan on the other hand has not, and therefore via WGA bylaws, should be forced to keep the beard - if only because without it and the 4 minutes of material milked from it every night, we’d be subjected to 36 minutes of trying to break the 30 Rock ring-spinning record. And that is boo.

Don’t shave it, Conze.

STEPHAN: Yes, Late Night Thing is still in English. I realize it doesn’t look like it based on those lineups, but that’s apparently who we’re getting. Maybe the networks shouldn’t have pushed these guys back into service without any help at all. No writers and nothing from the guests? Yeah that’s definitely a recipe for success. Yeesh. Might as well put this guy on (link NSFW if your boss hates swearing):

ERECH: Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy… JAY THOMAS??!! I mean, did your booker go on strike too? LORD. I, with all honesty, forgot that guy was even alive. And now I find out he hosts a show on Sirius too?? Where was I when Sirius was, it seems, LITERALLY just giving shows away? I could host a show on satrad, sheesh. Anyways, Ivana Trump is missing a K in her name to even be near the realm of relevant right now, and poor Blake Lewis is making me have to apologize on behalf of all of Seattle again. Eek.

Conan has MGMT on, and they’re ok. Dear Conze’s booking people, get The Cool Kids on asap and be on the cutting edge, yeah?

Otherwise, tonight looks to be a wash. Guess it’s gonna be me, a pile of booger sugar, a sharpened pencil, and the copy of IT’S SUD-OKAY TO CRY I got for Christmas. Yikes.
