The Thing is back, starting the week off with Pothead Day. As a pair of drunks, Stephan & Erech think it’s unfair that stoner dewds have co-opted this day of Columbine mourning and remembrance, with their filthy hempy ways. What respectable addict makes that much fuss out of their addictions, we ask you? (and then we answer for you inside, so keep reading!) LNT - This week, we’re taking no prisoners.
Late Night Thing returns after a brief hiatus to get back on track, doing what it does best. No, it’s not killing a man (although we’re ok at that). And no, it’s not jazz trumpet (Stephan is so-so, Erech is awful). No, The Thing is the best there is at telling you goons what to watch after the kids fall asleep, and your significant other won’t give you any nookie. That’s right, as you sit and stew in your bitter jammies on the couch, the only one awake in the house at midnight, we’re right there with you friend. LNT - We’re the voice of a new generation.
It’s week 69 here at Late Night Thing Productions LLC (a subsidiary of Still Groovin’ Pictures!) and we’re not gonna stop till we get it done. That’s right, this week there are no breaks, neither lunch, coffee or smoke. We aren’t gonna finish this till you’re fully informed about what to watch this week. And if after all our informational prowess provided to you (free of charge too) you still don’t do it right, well, Stephan & Erech will just have to go all Obama on your ass and have you fired. LNT - Doing wats rite since 2007!
68 weeks of Late Night Thing, I think we all know the sorts of jokes we can expect next week then right? Seriously, we’re gonna have to do it, because Late Night Thing is nothing if not predictable. Dependable too. That’s right, you know that each and every week you’ll have Stephan & Erech showing up to save you from having to make up your own mind about things, because, why should you have to? LNT - We’re like those floating chairs in Wall•E, just sit back and relax!
Week 67 down here at Late Night Thing, and it’s time to get back to work. Now that the WFMU marathon is done, Stephan and Erech have their heads fully back in the talk show game, here, ready to tell you folks what is the good stuff to watch in the post primetime weeknights. Fallon is on to week 3, and he’s finally starting to warm up a little - just a little, but just enough. LNT - 50 weeks of FUN, 2 weeks of FUNdraising!
Late Night Thing returns, to tell you how the first week of Fallon’s show went (or Jimmy2 as we’re calling him now). For the first week of a show, it wasn’t bad. The set seemed a little bigger and less intimate that it should have been - lots of shows have had to wait years before getting a set that nice or large. Overall though, it was ok. If that’s all you think we have to say about it though, you don’t know how we do things, so keep reading for our full rundown! LNT - seriously, when is someone going to hire us to be their showrunner?
The Best Show On WFMU with Tom Scharpling does its second and final marathon show for the 2009 fundraiser, and Tom’s going to be joined by some awesome people. The amazing Ted Leo and Aimee Mann will both be on hand to play songs for contributions. If that weren’t enough, the one and only host [...]
65th Week of Late Night Thing, and it’s a good one. We’re in the new Fallon era of late night, and we’re as excited as can be for something new down at Murdershow HQ. Look, we had some hesitation at first too, but know this; Fallon’s show is going to be great, don’t doubt it. It’ll be clunky at first sure, but he has a lot of energy, hired some GREAT writers, and has the mother effing Roots as his band. We know it’s fun to hate on the guy, but his show and him are two totally separate entities. Have some faith, fellow insomno-nerds. LNT - we’re feeling a might positive this week, can you feel it?
Late Night Thing is back for our 64th installment of telling you fine ladies and gents what the good word is in the dark corridors of late night talk shows. It’s a week of all reruns (except for Kimmel, who will feel like a rerun…), and it’s the last week you’ll be able to see Late Night with Conan before Fallon takes over, so get your fill while you can. Next week, we get a new show, and the boys of the Thing are pretty excited to help all of our readers get over that transitional hump too. LNT - It’s a whole new week!
Stephan & Erech take the magical dynamic of Late Night Thing and apply it to reviewing funnybooks - starting off with an in-depth look at Image Comics new horror OGN, Heathentown! Written by Corinna Sara Bechko, with art by Garbiel Hardman - horror comics are right up the boys of Murdershow’s alley, will they approve? Keep reading to find out!
